Do I need an Estate Plan?

Always a good question, what is the purpose of an estate plan?  Why should you care about what happens after you’re gone?  Won’t it be someone else’s problem?  Well, you may want to care as long as you care about your legacy and those you leave behind.

Your legacy is the memory, the drive, the charitable focus that remain after you’re gone.  Your family and friends will be picking up the pieces of their lives as well as your life if there’s no plan in place.

Pulling together your assets, your goals, your wishes for what you have accumulated over years not only creates organization for your loved ones in the turmoil of your passing, but it gives you peace of mind in knowing that you have a plan in place.

Do you have children and/or pets?  Provide for their care with a plan.  Do you want to make sure your favorite book goes to a particular loved one?  Do that with a plan.  Things will be taken care of.

Planning involves so much more than just your worldly possessions.  Children, animals, plants, elder care for yourself, medical directives, financial planning, all of this goes into your plan.

Planning for the future helps put order to chaos today.  Bring your life into perspective and really see what means the most to you.
